Alan Carr announced as host for new Saturday night BBC quiz show Picture Slam

The quiz will see Carr show teams of two a board of images. Every picture shown is worth a cash bonus, which they can claim by identifying the object in the photo. If they can correctly identify every image on the board they will earn themselves a “picture slam” and a bigger bonus.

However, in order for the team to take the money home they must pass through four rounds of photos and reach the final, beating the other two teams in the process.

The duo’s first new series in over 10 years will revolve around “the world’s first limitless money ladder.”

Contestants climb the ladder with every question they correctly answer. They will also need to do so to bank the cash.

It is a recipe for jeopardy that is hinted at in the dramatic promo which sees Ant and Dec reacting with shock and horror for reasons as yet unknown.

Channel 4 commissions new quiz show Moneybags

Hosted by Craig Charles, the high-stakes quiz show sees contestants given a series of general knowledge questions, with the answers on moneybags that pass along a conveyer belt in front of them. 

The contestants will have to think quickly to grab the right answer and see how much that bag is worth. 

A bag with the correct answer can be work anything from £1000 to £100,000, but if contestants pick the wrong bag, they could lose everything.

Each week an eye-watering £1 million will pass down the conveyer belt, but it’s up to the contestants to grab it.
