January: Visit to Gorilla Post Production
For our first event for this year, we visited their new HQ on the 31st January, which provided a behind the scenes look at one of Wales' leading Post Production facilities, and included a brief presentation by Paul Owen, Gorilla's Operations Director.
January: Television - 'First Light'
For our first event of 2016, we marked the 90th anniversary of John Logie Baird's first demonstration of television, at the Royal Institution on 26th January 1926, by co-hosting a lecture by author Don McLean, entitled Television - First Light, on 26th January at Aberystwyth University.

The Centre is also committed to professional development, and is keen to explore ways of raising standards through its activities. We work with universities and colleges across Wales.
Welsh-language programme making is an important constituent part of broadcasting in Wales, and in recent years the Wales Centre has tailored some of its activities to reflect this.
We arrange a schedule of some ten events per year, and are always very pleased to welcome new members.
January: Crowdfunding Masterclass
In this event, held in conjunction with Skillset Media Academy Wales, three experts explained from their own experience how it's possible to raise funds for film and TV projects through private donations and pledges from the public.
RTS Student Television Awards
One of the most exciting aspects of television today is the way in which young people are always shaking things up with new ideas, scripts and fresh formats. The Royal Television Society recognises this youthful enthusiasm in the annual Student Television Awards.
