Execs from top shows that included The Apprentice, Educating Cardiff and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway were grilled in a series of three-minute dates by a young audience eager to get in and on in telly.

“There are opportunities in documentaries – it feels like an exciting time. There are many more documentary series now compared to when I started,” said producer/director Nicola Brown, whose credits include Channel 4 shows The Secret Life of Four Year Olds and Educating Cardiff. Rig shows in particular, she added, were looking to hire.

Jordan Hogg has over 70 hours of broadcast TV credits, including the ground-breaking and multi-award-winning BBC One drama, Ralph & Katie – the first drama to feature two learning disabled lead actors. He previously directed Channel 4 prison drama Screw and the third and fourth series of Ackley Bridge.

For this year's Masterclasses, Hogg talks to Diederick Santer about how he goes about shooting everything from a unique angle, and opens up about the roots of his tenacious drive.

RTS announces Craft & Design awards nominees

Wolf Hall

The nominees for this year’s RTS Craft & Design Awards have been announced.

Cilla, Wolf Hall and Fortitude are each nominated for three awards, as are The Eichmann Show, The Keith Lemon Sketch Show and Pets – Wild at Heart.

Comedian Susan Calman will host the awards, which are spread over 27 categories and recognise the huge variety of skills and processes involved in programme production.
