'My Grandfather Dylan'

Hannah Ellis

To celebrate the centenary of Dylan Thomas's birth, producer Phil George and his company, Green Bay Media, were given 'a rare treat' when asked to produce a documentary about the poet's life.  My Grandfather Dylan, was broadcast on the ITV Network late last year, and according to George the programme, "attempted to challenge some of the misconceptions that have developed about one of the greatest English language poets of the 20th century".

Meet the Makers

A group of freelancers

Eight groups of freelancers spent 10 minutes with each production company, which included Two Four, Boomerang, Dragonfly, Green Bay, Avanti, Boom Pictures, Modern Television and BBC Wales.  Participants moved from company to company, every time the famous 'Countdown Clock' was played over the venue's sound system.

The event was organised by our RTS Wales Committee Member Cath Tudor, of freelance agency 'TV Teams', who said "the aim was to raise awareness of RTS Wales, and at the same time build a better network of freelancers based here in Wales".
