A workshop event for new entrants, "What Next? Breaking into the Media", organised by the RTS Wales Centre, was held on the 27th March as part of the week long Zoom International Film Festival 2015.  The four panellists, Zoe Rushton, Talent Manager at BBC Cymru Wales, Roger Burnell, founder of the youth broadcast training scheme, It's My Shout, and independent producers, Peter Edwards (Barefoot Rascals) and Paul Islwyn Thomas (Bulb Films), described how they entered the industry to a group of young people attending the festival at Bridgend College.  The panellists noted the recent developments in south Wales which are providing significant opportunities, such as the creation of the BBC's Drama Village in Cardiff Bay, the new Pinewood studios near Newport, and the Da Vinci's Demons set in a former Swansea motor factory.  The panel concluded that flexibility, enthusiasm, and an ability to get on with people working as a team are key attributes for any would-be new entrant.
