Nominations for the RTS Television Journalism Awards 2020 announced

The BBC leads the way with 28 nominations overall across 17 of the 19 categories, followed by ITV with 10 nominations.

The prestigious awards will be presented at a ceremony hosted by Sky News presenter Anna Botting on the 26th February 2020 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

The awards, which span both news and current affairs, seek to recognise creative and excellent journalism by organisations whose broadcasts are transmitted on a UK-based platform, or who create online video content from a UK production base.

Screening and Q&A of Making a Monster

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with key experts from the series including Dan Korn, VP Programming, A+E Networks UK, Dr Julian Boon, Chartered Forensic Psychologist, University of Leicester, Professor Paul Britton, Criminal Profiler, Birmingham City University and Dr Samantha Lundrigan, Investigative Criminal Psychologist, Anglia Ruskin University, chaired by Karen Robinson, Supplements Editor, Crime Club Editor, The Sunday Times.

Ian Katz Biography

Ian Katz has overall responsibility for the creative output of Channel 4’s portfolio of channels and on-demand viewing service, All 4.

He is an experienced creative leader with an award-winning track record in both broadcast and newspaper journalism. He was editor of BBC Newsnight from 2013 to 2017, a period which saw the show collect awards for exposing the Kids Company scandal and investigating the Grenfell fire.
