ITV2 has announced the arrival of a brand new six-part musical competition series, Celebrity Karaoke Club.
Seven celebrities will kick off the proceedings at a karaoke bar, belting out their renditions in both solo performances and group battles.
In a provocative twist, their fellow competitors will judge them, with a focus on passion and stage presence over voice.
The list of those on the mic includes TV personalities Scarlett Moffat and Roman Kemp, Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts, comedians Joel Dommett, Judi Love, Melvin Odoom and Luke Kempner, and Love Island’s Samira Mighty.
Joining them are international drag queen Courtney Act and Drag Race’s Baga Chipz, singer-songwriters Tallia Storm and Diana Vickers, and The Only Way Is Essex’s Jessica Wright.
Every episode one of the celebrities will be heading home to be replaced with another, meaning all seven will have to fight it out on stage to avoid knockout.
In between rounds, the stars will have time to build alliances at the bar and gossip about rivals behind their backs, meaning those less vocally gifted may regain favour ahead of the vote.
Will Macdonald, Creative Director and Executive Producer at series producers Monkey, added: “Ludicrous times demand ludicrous entertainment, and that’s what this show delivers thanks to a righteous collective of celebrities, a free bar and the world’s best karaoke machine.
“What could possibly go wrong? As Starship nearly said: Nothing’s Gonna Stop Them Now.”
Celebrity Karaoke Club will air on ITV2 this autumn.
