The first series proved a hit with viewers and was nominated for a Royal Television Society Programme Award earlier this year. 

The show, which is filmed in a gig environment, sees two teams made up of comedians, hip hop legends and celebrity hip hop lovers battle it out in front of a live audience.

Hosted by Rizzle Kicks' Jordan Stephens, the two teams will once again be led by TV presenter Maya Jama and rapper Lady Leshurr, with new guests joining the trio each week.

ITV’s Comedy Controller, Saskia Schuster said: “Don’t Hate The Playaz put its unique spin on panel shows and the producers have some great ideas lined up for the second series.”

ITV2 has also recommissioned The Stand Up Sketch Show for a second series, which will air on screens in early 2020.

The show turns comedy on its head, with stand-up routines from some of the nation’s favourite comedians and new up-and-coming talent.

The show mixes established routines with new material, and each sketch begins with a comedian telling their story in front of a live audience and then shifts to a surreal reconstruction of the material.

The reconstruction features ridiculous props, visual jokes and supporting performances, with any dialogue lip-synced by the comedians and comedy actors.

Each episode has 8-10 fast paced, laugh out loud sketches with plenty of additional gags in between.

The first series featured comedians Joel Dommett, Seann Walsh, London Hughes, Fern Brady and Russell Kane.

ITV’s Head of Digital Channel, Paul Mortimer said: "Don’t Hate The Playaz and The Stand Up Sketch Show were creative and original commissions for ITV2 and we’re delighted both shows resonated with our younger audience.”
