The channel is remaining tight-lipped on the nature of the programme, but its Head of Entertainment, TV Events and Sport, Ed Havard, announced that he has commissioned a one-hour pilot from Hart and her production company King Bert.

Hart won a host of RTS awards for her sitcom Miranda, including the Programme Award for Comedy Performance two years in a row, in 2010 and 2011.

Havard has also announced two further commissions for entertainment shows.

Alan Carr will host I Don’t Like Mondays, a game show that sees audience members compete to win a year’s salary.

The studio audience, armed with their resignation letters, will take part in a series of big scale studio games and challenges, with the winner quitting their job to spend their prize money as they see fit.

The series will be produced by Alaska TV, the company behind Very British Problems and Blinging Up Baby.

Speaking about the new commission, Managing Director of Alaska TV Chris Fouracre said, “We’ve all had that dread of the alarm clock going off on Monday morning, signalling the start of another working week. Hopefully I Don’t Like Mondays will be a televisual antidote to that universal feeling and Alan is the perfect man to deliver it.”

Alan Carr will also present a new pilot for The Remote Controller, a show that sees members of the public pitch ideas for TV shows to a discerning panel made up of some much-loved TV faces including Harry Hill, and members of the public. The studio audience will then vote on whether the idea should be turned into a reality, and the top two ideas will then get the chance to be made.

The three new orders follow recent entertainment commission Host the Week, and the return of The Price is Right.
