The CDN (Creative Diversity Network) and Creative Skillset have announced the launch of a second Commissioner Programme
The Commissioner Programme gives aspiring commissioners the chance to apply for one of eight placements at the UK’s leading broadcasters.
To apply, go to the Creative Skillset website.
The programme aims to broaden the diversity of voices and perspectives in TV and enable experienced media professionals to hone their skills in a commissioning role.
The eight successful candidates will be given a contract with a broadcaster for a minimum of 12 months, starting early in 2017.
All eight candidates will join up for a five day boot camp in March.
In addition, the candidates will get money-can’t-buy training from the best in the industry, senior mentors, executive coaching and fantastic networking.
The programme is open to TV professionals, series producer level and above, and tries to ensure that television content and commissioning teams better reflect modern Britain.
Placements will be in features, factual entertainment, factual daytime, specialist factual, factual, and scripted comedy.
Supported by the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky and Channel 5 and funded by Creative Skillset, the Commissioner Programme is open to everyone - with a specific hope that people from BAME and disabled backgrounds, who are currently under represented in these roles, will apply.
Details for each of the eight job vacancies can be found here.
The Commissioner Programme follows the return of Creative Skillset’s Series Producer Programme, which is now open for applications, follow the link for more information on how to apply www.creativeskillset.org/seriesproducer.
