BBC Scotland produces award winning arts programming for Scottish, UK and global audiences. RTS Scotland is proud to present an insight into the work of the talented arts team at Pacific Quay.
Presented by Executive Producer Pauline Law, Production Manager Claire McCluskey and Director Jack Cocker the event will focus on two areas.
Pauline and Claire will share their expertise and experience in taking a programme from initial idea to final transmission; covering commissioning, development, planning and production. Together they have worked on programmes such as The Marvellous World of Roald Dahl, In Conversation and Edinburgh Nights.
Jack will reflect on his experience directing Richard Flanagan: Life after Death; an acclaimed episode of the UK arts strand Imagine. Jack’s work on the programme featuring the Man Booker Prize winning author led to his own award as Director of the Year award at the RTS Scotland Awards in May this year. The jury acknowledged that he clearly gained Flannagan’s trust, giving him the space to breathe and offering the viewer a deeply moving experience, describing the programme as “visual storytelling at its absolute best.”
Please book now as event is likely to sell out. Free to RTS members.
The event begins at 6.30 at Pacific Quay and will be followed by networking drinks.
