Ahead of the new series of Taskmaster, the five contestants braving another bombardment of pointless tasks have been named.
Competing for the golden bust of His Majesty the Taskmaster Greg Davies will be comedian and writer Fatiha El-Ghorri, who’s appeared on Live at the Apollo, American comedian and actor Jason Mantzoukas, best known for voicing the sex-obsessed Jay Bilzerian in Big Mouth, and Mathew Baynton from the Horrible Histories and Ghosts troupe. The co-host of the Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed podcast, Rosie Ramsey, and comedian and actor Stevie Martin (Starstruck), round out the five.
Davies will once again be joined by his long-suffering underling Alex Horne, who will somehow come up with another series of inventive but inessential challenges to test the wits of their comedian contestants. They spoke to the RTS last year about their evolving relationship, and Horne’s surprisingly bubbly inspiration for the tasks.
The original UK Taskmaster is a global sensation and has now been exported to 120 countries. The last series saw Andy Zaltzman take the crown, but Rosie Jones stole the show with her brand of glorious chaos.
Taskmaster series 19 will air later this year on Channel 4.
