Channel 4 has revealed the line-up of comedians, writers, directors and film stars for series 16, including ex-Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins.
For 16 series, Taskmaster Greg Davies has been setting five comedians absurd and surrealist tasks from the comfort of his big red throne, joined by his assistant ‘little’ Alex Horne.
Contestants must earn points by completing tasks such as “be photographed in the most unusual situation wearing this fez” or “conceal this pineapple”, and the one with the most points at the end of the series goes home with a trophy in the shape of Greg Davies’ head.
Sue Perkins will be joined by stand-up comic Sam Campbell (Stath Lets Flats), actor, writer, and director Susan Wokoma (Cheaters), comedian Julian Clary (Friday Night Live), and writer and comedian Lucy Beaumont.
Beaumont’s husband and Meet the Richardsons co-star Jon Richardson competed in the second series of Taskmaster but was narrowly beaten to the trophy by Katherine Ryan. Can Lucy Beaumont finally bestow the Richardson house with the coveted golden effigy of Davies?
The success of Taskmaster has seen the series be remade in 12 different countries, its own board game, and an upcoming spin off series, Junior Taskmaster, fronted by Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak.
Taskmaster series 16 is expected to air later this year. All episodes of Taskmaster are available to watch on All 4.
