The Tattooist of Auschwitz: Page to Screen  

Join Heather Morris, author of the global best-selling novel ‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’, and Claire Mundell, BAFTA-winning Executive Producer and Founder of Glasgow-based Synchronicity Films, to hear how the book was adapted into a break-out, critically acclaimed international TV series. Written by Jacquelin Perske, EP’d by Claire Mundell and Jacquelin Perske and directed by Tali Shalom Ezer.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz tells the story of one man, Lali Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, who, in 1942, was deported to Auschwitz, the concentration camp where over a million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust. Whilst there, he met Gita whilst tattooing her prisoner number on her arm, leading to a love that defied the horrors around them. So began a courageous and unforgettable story of how Lali and Gita found love in the darkest of places.

The multi-Emmy-nominated Sky and Peacock Original series launched earlier this year starring Harvey Keitel, Melanie Lynskey, Jonah Hauer-King, Anna Próchniak and Jonas Nay, with original music from Academy Award-winner Hans Zimmer and Kara Talve, plus global music icon Barbra Streisand.
