Lorraine was the first woman to run BBC 1. She led the rebranding and transformation of channel taking it to beat ITV in the ratings for the first time, making it most popular channel in the UK. Responsible for programming, scheduling and strategy, Lorraine launched many hit shows including Strictly Come Dancing, Dr Who, Spooks and Waking the Dead

Lorraine is Chairman of the Grierson Trust and Independent External Advisor for Channel 4's Growth Fund.
