River City: Behind the Shieldinch Scenes
For 20 years a thriving Glasgow street packed with families, friends, lovers, murderers and gangsters has been tucked away on an industrial estate on the outskirts of Dumbarton. This special event hosted by BBC Scotland and RTS Scotland will peak behind the Shieldinch Scenes and showcase the craft, process and production methods that bring River City to the screen.
This mammoth machine has been powering crew training for two decades and has acted as a springboard for many. Join broadcaster Paul English as he discusses the long term impact on the television sector in Scotland with series producer Martin McCardie, BBC Drama Commissioning Executive Gaynor Holmes and award-winning writer Jillian Mannion.
