The Future of Broadcast is Virtual

Florian Gallier,  Product Manager - Remote Production & Image Robotics at Mo-Sys Engineering Ltd

Virtual Production has been around since the mid 1990s but has only recently been able to deliver life-like realism, generating dynamically changing 3D locations or scenes within a single studio.

In this presentation, Florian Gallier of Mo-Sys will be explaining how real-time photo-realistic 3D graphics engines, combined with precision camera and lens tracking, is enabling new ways to create content for broadcast and film.

Cost savings and carbon footprint reductions are significant, and this technology is available to anyone creating moving image content.

Florian is a specialist in virtual and remote production at Mo-Sys. He brings innovative new solutions for production workflows that enable filmmakers, directors and camera operators to breakthrough technological limitations to their creativity.

Gideon Ferber, Product Director broadcast at disguise

Ever wondered how broadcasters can benefit from virtual production? Join Gideon Ferber, Broadcast Product Director for visual storytelling company disguise as he discusses some world-class examples of virtual production in action as well as the advantages of using this unique approach in broadcast productions.

disguise’s award-winning virtual production solution, disguise xR, has powered over 400 immersive real-time productions in over 40 countries in the past two years, including a range of high-profile live broadcasts, including various coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, ITV Sport’s coverage of the UEFA Euro 2020 championship, the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the 2020 MTV VMAs.

Together we will do a cost-benefit analysis of virtual production workflows and look at how disguise is working with the creative community to solve their unique production challenges. We will explore current challenges, the future of production and what is next for both creatives and technologists in this space.
