With the publication of its new strategy paper on communications policy, the UK Government has given notice of change in vital areas of interest for television. In this evening's session an expert panel debates the regulatory changes and challenges facing the television industry in the near term.

With this summer’s publication of its strategy paper, “Connectivity, content and consumers: Britain's digital platform for growth”, the UK Government has given notice of change in vital areas of interest for television: EPGs, spectrum allocation, support for production and the regulation of content on connected TVs are among the issues raised, along with a consultation on media plurality. Is the Government too ambitious in a cross-border commercial environment – or not ambitious enough? An expert panel debates the regulatory changes and challenges facing the television industry in the near term.
