Join Bad Wolf CEO Jane Tranter, Creative & Commercial Affairs Executive Emma Obank and screenwriter Marnie Dickens (Gold Digger, Wilderness) as they discuss what it takes to write a successful TV drama, as well as how to break through as a professional screenwriter.

Throughout the hour-long discussion and audience Q&A, they’ll be discussing where to start with an idea, how to approach agents, advice on how to pitch and a range of topics relating to the craft and business of screenwriting.

Applications open on Monday 16th September for Bad Wolf’s Blaidd Writers Programme, a 6-month paid scheme where three Welsh writers will be mentored by screenwriters Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials, National Treasure), Russell T Davies (Doctor Who, Years & Years) and Marnie Dickens (Gold Digger, Wilderness) to develop a script and accompanying treatment for an ambitious contemporary returning drama. This RTS session will also allow anyone looking to apply to ask any additional questions regarding the scheme.

Tickets are free. Arrival is 6pm for a 6.30pm panel in the University of South Wales Atrium’s Cinema, followed by refreshments and socialising in the main foyer.

Panellists:

  • Jane Tranter, CEO, Bad Wolf
  • Emma Obank, Creative & Commercial Affairs Executive, Bad Wolf
  • Marnie Dickens, Screenwriter
