RTS Cymru Wales will be hosting a very special event in Cardiff to mark 40 years of Crimewatch.
Get ready crime connoisseurs, September will see the return of BBC’s Crimewatch Live as it marks a milestone in True Crime history with 40 years of Crimewatch.
Since June 1984, Crimewatch has been asking viewers for information on some of the UK's most high-profile police cases, including the murders of James Bulger, Sarah Payne and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. The evening programme attracted 14 million viewers at its peak and across its 40-year history Crimewatch and its spin off programmes have covered thousands of appeals with a huge number of successes.
From Nick Ross to Kirsty Young and now Rav Wildling and Michelle Ackerley, the show continues to ask for the public’s assistance, beaming police appeals live into viewers’ homes.
The programme, produced in Cardiff since 2011, will be marking its 40th anniversary year with a event hosted by RTS Cymru on 26th September 2024 at Chapter Arts Centre. Showcasing 40 years of cases, highlights, and a teaser of what is in store for the future for Crimewatch fans, including a look at the brand-new series Crimewatch Caught.
There will also be a panel featuring Crimewatch legends including on-screen and off-screen talent with a Q&A for attendees and a reception.
