Visual effects (VFX) is the process in which technical images are created or manipulated for a desired effect that is not possible with live action filmmaking. Each job in VFX requires different skills and training is usually needed for the career path.

Duties include

  • Designing and creating visual special effects
  • Collating a VFX blueprint, reading the script and communicating with the director and team to determine what special effects are required
  • Identifying mistakes before the final cut
  • Communicating with other departments
