The RTS Award-nominated Black history comedy panel show, Sorry, I Didn't Know, has been renewed by ITV for a fourth series.

The new four-part series will air outside Black History Month for the first time, having been given a slot in the mainstream schedule.

ITV's Head of Entertainment Commissioning Katie Rawcliffe, who ordered the recommission, explained: “Sorry I Didn’t Know has quickly established itself as one of our stand out panel shows, with all the ingenuity, flair and humour to appeal to a modern, contemporary audience. We’re thrilled to champion this brilliant show and all it represents.”

Chizzy Akudlou and Eddie Kadi will once again captain teams of celebrity guests, while Jimmy Akingbola will host.

Akingbola is also the co-founder of TriForce Productions alongside Fraser Ayres and Minnie Ayres, all of whom will continue to executive produce the show.

Ayres commented: “We're very proud to be working with ITV to not only deliver authentically Black, yet commercial programming outside of Black History Month, but also with their support and the expertise of DandI.org.uk, to be creating unprecedented pathways for talent that directly address the lack of diversity in senior roles.”

Ayres will also return to lead the writing team, which includes Viv May (Have I Got News For You) and Mark Boutros (8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown). Joining them is trainee writer Aida Abdul-Raheem, who was offered a position as part of TriForce's trainee scheme developing the next generation of diverse production crew.

ITV’s Diversity & Inclusion partners are supporting the scheme again this year, extending it into even more departments as several alumni step into more senior roles.

Sorry, I Didn't Know is set to film in front of a live studio audience in London in July 2023. The series will air on ITV in Autumn 2023.
