Sky has released first-look images from the set of its new original drama series Britannia.
Britannia is a ten-part drama by multi-award-winning script writer Jez Butterworth, which is set to air in 2017. Butterworth has written Black Mass (2015), Edge of Tomorrow, and has also co-written James Bonds' Spectre.
For the first time, Sky has teamed up with Amazon to create the new historical drama.
Set in 43AD, the story sees the Roman army invading Celtic Britannia, a land ruled by warrior women and powerful druids who can channel the powerful forces of the underworld.
Kelly Reilly (see main image) plays Kerra, a fearless Celtic princess. Reilly has previously starred in Flight alongside Denzel Washington, Me & Orson Welles and HBO's True Detective. She has also featured in the Sherlock Holmes films as Mary Watson.
The Missing's David Morrissey stars as Aulus, the head of the invading Roman Imperial Army. Morrissey has also starred in The Walking Dead and the critically-acclaimed State of Play.
Divis (played by Nikolaj Lie Kaas) is a rogue druid caught between his own need to stop the Romans and realising he is part of a much bigger plan.
The series is set to air on Sky 1 in the UK and Amazon Prime Video in the United States from 2017.
