Sion Daniel Young (Witness Number 3) and Fra Fee (Cabaret) will take the starring roles of Gabriel and Andy, a couple who have recently embarked on a journey of adoption.

Gabriel (Young) is a singer and artiste who regularly performs at ‘Neverland’, a queer club space in Cardiff. He finds himself examining and attempting to repair the relationship between himself and his father after adopting the seven-year-old Jake alongside his partner Andy (Fee).

Also cast are Elizabeth Berrington (The Pact), Sharon D. Clarke (Holby City), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander), Arwel Gruffydd (Tess of the D’Urbervilles), Shaheen Jafargholi (EastEnders), Mali Ann Rees (The Pact), William Thomas (Torchwood), Gwyneth Keyworth (Alex Rider), Gwawr Loader (Hidden).

The screenplay was developed as part of BBC Writersroom’s TV Drama Writers’ Programme 2019, and is Daf James’ first original screenplay for the BBC.

Lost Boys and Fairies will launch on BBC One and iPlayer, with no release date currently confirmed.
