For the second year running, writer, broadcaster and comedian Sandi Toksvig will be presenting the Women in Film and Television Awards.
The 25th annual ceremony, which honours and celebrates the achievements of women across the industry, is supported by Sky and will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 4th December.
Toksvig, an outspoken feminist and political activist for some time, hosted Radio 4’s The News Quiz from 2006 until earlier this year when she decided to leave and co-found the Women’s Equality Party. Last week, it was announced that she would take over from Stephen Fry hosting the BBC’s long-running quiz QI, making her Britain’s first woman at the helm of a mainstream panel comedy show.
And today's quite interesting news is that I've been announced as the new presenter of Qi. My dream telly job and I have huge shoes to fill

On the WFTV awards, she said: “Having enjoyed the event a number of times as a guest, presenter and host, I am delighted to be returning to this year’s Women in Film & TV Awards. It is a rare and precious thing to celebrate the achievements of some truly remarkable women and I am looking forward to hearing all about their inspiring achievements.”
