Toksvig will once again travel across the country on more extraordinary adventures with some of the nation’s funniest and interesting women.

The six-part series and Christmas special will show viewers some of the most beautiful, wildest and one-of-a-kind stays that suit every budget, with plenty of laughs along the way. 

To kick off the series, Toksvig will explore Devon with stand-up comedian and author Sarah Millican.

She will then journey around Cornwall with actress Sue Johnston, the Highlands of Scotland with Sara Pascoe, Wales with Jenny Éclair, Norfolk with Sunetra Sarker and the Highlands and Islands with Phillipa Perry. 

Toksvig and her travel buddies will get to go inside some of the UK’s best holiday properties and discover the amazing designs behind each one, stand in awe at the remarkable architecture and immerse themselves in the total beauty of each location.

For the Christmas special, Toksvig takes actress Fay Ripley, businesswoman and Dragon Deborah Meaden and The Sky at Night’s Maggie Aderin-Pocock on a once-in-a-lifetime Scandinavian escape. 

Together they go on the hunt to see the Orcas, search for the Northern Lights, get up close and personal with a pack of wolves, and reflect on life and nature with delectable seasonal food and a yuletide cocktail or two.

Series two of Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig will air on Channel 4 in early 2022 and the Christmas special will air on Tuesday 28 December at 8pm.
