Netflix UK has revived a number of childhood television shows for 2016.

The reboot is part of the platform's push into original kids television. The shows join the network’s own children's programmes and in-house production Turbo Fast

Other programmes include Beverly Hills and Inspector Gadget.

Next year more kids' shows will include The Greenhouse which is a live action series set in an elite boarding school in America. Joining this programme will be Hasbro Studio’s first programme for Netflix, Stretch Armstrong

Here are three shows from our childhood which have made a comeback.

Danger Mouse

The new series is a comeback of the British cartoon that was shown from 1981 until 1992.

Actor and comedian Stephen Fry is the voice of danger mouse’s boss, Colonel K.

While the show was produced for the BBC, it is one of five children's shows announced for international distribution on Netflix. The programme will be streamed in North and Latin America, Nordic territories, Benelux and Japan later this year.

Ten seasons are available now in the UK.

Care bears and cousins return

The Care Bears series began in the 1980s. Viewers can watch original bears Cheer and Grumpy alongside a number of other animals including a lion, a raccoon, a penguin and a pig.

In 2014 after The Hub Network changed to Discovery Family it was revealed that the only one new series titled Welcome to Care-a-lot would be released.

However Netflix commissioned the revived version of Care Bears and Cousins alongside The Care Bears Movie, Care Bears: Journey to Joke-a-lot, Care Bears: Share Bear Shines and Care Bears: Oopsy Does It.

Season two begins on 5 February.

All aboard The Magic School Bus!

The hit-1990s television show has been revamped under the new name The Magic School Bus 360°

Unlike the previous Magic School Bus, it is fitted with technology and the pupils wear the latest gadgets.

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos told the New York Times: “It teaches science in a way that transcends generations."

Currently four seasons are available on Netflix.
