Further cast has been announced for the adaption of Holly Jackson’s popular young adult thriller series.
A Good Girl's Guide for Murder follows Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers), a 17-year-old who has chosen a five-year-old local murder-suicide case for her final school project. As she gets further and further into the case, she discovers that the original verdict may not be correct. Working alongside the accused’s brother, Ravi Singh (Zain Iqbal), Pip will have to uncover the true events before the real killer covers their tracks.
Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland) and Gary Beadle (Operation Good Guys) are joining the cast as Pip’s parents Leanne and Victor, and Ghosts' Mathew Baynton as Elliot Ward. Wednesday’s Emma Myers will star as Pip, with Zain Iqbal (All Crazy Random) leading alongside her as Ravi Singh.
Other cast newly announced includes Henry Ashton (Outlander) as Max Hastings, Adam Astill (Holby City) and Annabel Mullion (Mother’s Milk) as Toby and Rosie Hastings, Orla Hill (Swallows and Amazons) as Ruby Foxcroft, Yasmin Al-Khudhairi (Ackley Bridge) as Naomi Ward, Jessica Webber (After Everything) as Nat Da Silva, Oliver Wickham (Wednesday) as Jesse Walker and Carla Woodcock (Free Rein) as Becca.
India Lillie Davies (Call the Midwife) and newcomer Rahul Pattni will play the subjects of Pip’s investigation, Andie Bell and Sal Singh.
Mitu Panicucci, Ephraim O.P. Sampson, Matthew Khan and Georgia Aaron will also make their screen debuts, playing Stella Chapman, Jake Lawrence, Dylan, and Emma Hutton, respectively.
Holly Jackson says: “I am beyond thrilled to finally introduce Anna and Gary as Pip’s parents, Leanne and Victor, and Mathew Baynton as Elliot Ward. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d have such an incredible cast and yet – at the same time – it always had to be them, because they are perfect for these characters.
“I am also so excited to welcome Henry Ashton into the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder family as Max Hastings, Henry’s was the first audition I ever saw in the casting process, and it blew me away. In fact, they all did. It truly felt like watching the books come to life. We had so much fun making this TV show and I cannot wait to see it all come together – and to your TV screens!”
A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder will air on BBC Three and iPlayer, but a release date is yet to be confirmed.
