The first feature-length episode of I Am series three will star Kate Winslet and Mia Threapleton.
The episode, from writer-director Dominic Savage, will be called I Am Ruth and star Kate Winslet as Ruth and Mia Threapleton as her daughter.
Each episode will be named after the lead character and will star leading female acting talent.
Each film has been created in partnership with the lead female actors and will allow them to semi-improvise dialogue.
The series will explore the experiences of women going through emotionally raw moments that trigger thought-provoking personal introspection.
Kate Winslet commented: “I have always admired Dominic's work and, in particular, his commitment to telling real stories. British television is at an all time high, and I feel excited and honoured to be part of this community, especially right now.”
Writer, director and creator Dominic Savage commented: “It is a complete honour for me to be working and collaborating with Kate Winslet on this first film of the new series of I Am for Channel 4. Kate is such a legend, such an incredible and sublime acting talent, and I can’t wait to start shooting this unique and important story that we have created together.”
The cast for I Am Ruth and the other two films in the trilogy will be announced at a later date.
