ITV announced a new deal which sees Simon Cowell’s reality juggernauts Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor stay with the broadcaster for a further three years

The agreement with Syco Entertainment and FreemantleMedia UK extends ITV’s long-standing relationship with Cowell.

ITV’s Kevin Lygo was “delighted” that the shows were remaining on with the commercial broadcaster, adding “They are defining shows for us, ones that we are very proud to have as part of our entertainment slate.”

Cowell said “I want to thank ITV for continuing to be fantastic partners. I am delighted for the shows and, in particular, for all the talented people who work on them with us.”

The deal commences in with Britain’s Got Talent in Spring 2017, followed by The X Factor in the Autumn.
