ITV has commissioned a gripping drama led by Sheridan Smith (Mrs Biggs) entitled No Return.
The four-part series has been written by RTS-Award winning writer Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic).
No Return follows Kathy (Smith) and Martin who are enjoying a blissful holiday in Turkey with their son Noah and younger daughter Jess. Unbeknownst to the family, a horrific ordeal is about to tear their worlds apart.
When Noah is accused of a serious crime following a beach party, Kathy and Martin must reckon with an alien legal system and its significant expenses. As media attention mounts and fellow holidaymakers refuse to offer their support, the devastated family are left fighting for their son’s freedom.
The series has been produced by Red Production Company, the team behind dramas such as Years and Years and Happy Valley.
Sheridan Smith commented: “I'm such a big fan of Danny Brocklehurst and Red Production, they make incredible dramas. I was thrilled to be asked to play Kathy in this exciting production and to be at ITV again.
“Can’t wait to start filming on this thrilling, complex story about family finding their way through a terrifying situation.”
No Return will begin filming in summer 2021.
