A new entertainment series called Starstruck, hosted by Olly Murs, is heading to ITV.
Murs will be joined by a celebrity panel including singer and actress Sheridan Smith (Gavin and Stacey), Queen frontman Adam Lambert, comedian Jason Manford and the musical star and soul icon Beverley Knight.
The new format will see talented members of the public step up, perform and transform into their favourite singing artists, such as Amy Winehouse, Ariane Grande, Lady Gaga, Marvin Gaye and Michael Buble.
Competing in four teams, the contestants will perform as a trio while dressed as their favourite music star. The singers will receive the full ‘superstar experience’ with an expert glam team and a spectacular light and sound show.
Each week they will battle it out to convince the judges and the virtual audience that they deserve a spot in the final, to be in with a chance of bagging the £50,000 prize. Viewers can expect spectacular, jaw dropping transformations and huge surprises.
Olly Murs said: “I’m really excited to be hosting a big Saturday Night show like Starstruck. It ticks all the boxes; it’s about feel good, family fun which is something we all need right now. The performances should keep us well entertained and I can’t wait to see whether anyone wants to be transformed into me for the night!”
Beverley Knight added: “Every show we get to witness ordinary people emulate extraordinary icons on a huge scale and I’m so here for it! I’m looking forward to hearing and seeing those spectacular transformations and being a cheerleader for every contestant”.
