With Halloween drawing nearer, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith are returning to BBC Two with a spooktacular live episode of Inside No. 9.
The live episode is the twenty-fifth story to come out of the RTS award-winning series. The comedy duo, who will write and perform in the live special, will be joined by guest star Stephanie Cole (Still Open All Hours).
Dead Line focuses on the unfortunate Arthur Flitwick (Steve Pemberton), as he discovers a mysterious old mobile phone in a local graveyard.
Unknown to him, the phone is tied to dark mystical forces and when Flitwick attempts to contact the owner, his good deed goes punished and he is forced into his own living nightmare.
“We’ve never done anything like this before,” said Steve Pemberton of the pair’s venture into live television. “It’s much more like how they used to do it in the old days - a lot of prep, a lot of build-up, and one chance to get it right.”
“It’s not a comedy romp,” added Shearsmith. “With it being a Halloween-themed episode, it’s meant to be a bit more horror-like and hopefully that’s what we will deliver on."
Dead Line will air on Sunday 28th October at 10.00pm on BBC Two.
