BBC One has released first look images of the new psychological thriller The Girl Before.
The cast includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki), David Oyelowo (Selma), Jessica Plummer (EastEnders) and Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse).
Adapted from JP Delaney’s novel of the same name, the four-part series has also been written and executive produced by Delaney.
The series tells the story of Jane (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a young woman who gets the opportunity to move into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind minimalist house designed by an enigmatic architect (David Oyelowo).
However, to live in the house you must follow the architect’s very particular rules and after a while Jane starts to feel the house changing her in unexpected ways.
When Jane discovers there was a girl before her called Emma (Jessica Plummer), she is forced to admit there are unnerving similarities between the two.
When Jane makes a shocking discovery, she begins to question if she will suffer the same fate as the girl before.
The Girl Before will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and HBO Max in the US.
