The Daily Mail is launching a daily television series focusing on celebrity news, in partnership with Stage 29 Productions, owned by Dr Phil McGraw and his son Jay McGraw.

The Daily Mail is launching a daily television series focusing on celebrity news, in partnership with Stage 29 Productions, owned by Dr Phil McGraw and his son Jay McGraw.

Speaking at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity today, McGraw said that DailyMailTV would be Sglobal in scope, adding that they intend to have a studio in London, New York, LA and Sydney.

McGraw came to international fame as Dr Phil, at first as a relationship expert on The Oprah Winfrey Show, before launching his own daily advice series Dr Phil.

DailyMailTV will be produced by Phil and Jay McGraw alongside Dr Phil executive producer Carla Pennington, but it is yet to be seen whether McGraw will present the new series, which will be distributed by CBS Television in the US.

Martin Clarke, publisher and editor-in-chief of DailyMail.com, who worked with Stage 29 to develop the show said: "This is not a bolt on, it's not a gimmick, we're not just going to be lending our name. This is going to be part of DailyMail.com, this is part of the Daily Mail, this is a complete integration of the two companies and two teams of journalists."

MailOnline, which encompasses DailyMail.com, is the world’s largest English-language newspaper website, attracting 220 million users each month, including 50 million monthly US visitors.

DailyMailTV, which is expected to be syndicated, will launch in April 2016.
