Actor and comedian Nick Helm is on the hunt for the best food in the UK and beyond.
In UKTV’s new commission Eat Your Heart Out with Nick Helm, the comedian will be hitting the road on a ‘highly personal culinary journey’.
The sitcom-slash-food programme, which will air on Dave, takes Helm on his culinary journey from Essex to Leeds to Soho and on to Berlin, Paris, Glasgow and Brighton.
When Nick’s girlfriend dumps him at the start of the series, he needs to take advantage of not just the great food, but also his newfound single status. Maybe, if he eats enough he'll start to feel better...
As he travels around Europe, Helm meets up with friends, fellow comedians and his own heroes. “I’ve always has a love of people, food and food shows, and making this one was deeply personal to me,” Helm explained.
The 16-part series sees the comedian visit local cafes, the dining tables of talented home cooks, hidden bars, street treats and food trucks – as well as the odd proper restaurant.
