UKTV has commissioned a new live comedy series Live At The Moth Club for Dave from Baby Cow Productions (This Time With Alan Partridge).
Set at the iconic Moth Club in Hackney, the series will showcase cinematic sketches alongside live performances from the Moth Club’s stellar comedy collective including Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats), Natasia Demetriou (What We Do In The Shadows), Ellie White (Stath Lets Flats) and Cardinal Burns (Channel 4’s Cardinal Burns), Arnab Chanda (Pls Like), Ben Ashenden (The Bubble), and Alexander Owen (Dreaming Whilst Black).
Celebrating comedy from some of the UK’s most established comedians and emerging talent, the series has been curated by the long-running Moth Club cast of character comedians.
UKTV’s commissioning editor Mark Iddon commented: “Quite simply, the line-up of talent for this show is incredible. Capturing the unpredictable experience of a night out at The Moth Club whilst weaving a narrative around the venue and the people in it, is going to be something quite special."
Rupert Majendie, head of development at Baby Cow, added: “I'm so, so excited to be bringing together all the talent and fun moments I've experienced at The Moth Club as a live show for the last 7 years to TV. It's amazing that Dave is backing an exciting and ambitious ensemble show like this, showcasing the best talent out there. I'm over the moon to be bringing this to screen."
Live At The Moth Club will air later this year on Dave and UKTV Play.
