Channel 4 has released a trailer and first-look images for series two of Suspect, in which a woman has to stop a dangerous client of hers from killing again.
Dr Susannah Newman (Anne-Marie Duff, Bad Education) is having a session with Jon (Dominic Cooper, Preacher). Under hypnosis, Jon admits to being a murderer. It falls to Susannah to convince a sceptical police force that a young girl’s life is now in danger.
The first series followed Susannah’s ex-wife, detective Danny Frater (James Nesbitt). When Danny visited a mortuary, he made the horrifying discovery that the woman he was due to inspect was his estranged daughter, Christina (Imogen King). The official explanation was suicide, which Danny refused to swallow. Over a gruelling 24-hour period, he began his own investigations.
Now, Susannah continues to be haunted by guilt over the death of Cristina, her daughter. Can she stop Jon in time?
Ben Miller (Primeval) reprises his role as Detective Superintendent Richard Grove, with Tamsin Greig (Black Books) and Vinette Robinson (Boiling Point) making their first appearances in series two. Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), Nicholas Pinnock (Top Boy) and Gina McKee (Our Friends in the North) are also joining the cast.
The show will air on Channel 4 later in Summer 2024.
