Channel 4 has commissioned a new four-part DIY series from Dick and Angel Strawbridge.

In Dick & Angel’s Make, Do & Mend, the duo will offer resourceful DIY guidance to families during the lockdown, using only common household items and materials.

The Strawbridges earned their DIY credentials restoring a chateau in France to its former glory using their own handiwork and design skills in Escape to the Chateau.

Dick and Angel Strawbridge said: “Between the pair of us we have nearly a century’s worth of ‘make do and mend’ experience and so we are really excited to be making this brand-new series.”

The series will be entirely self-filmed by the Strawbridges at the chateau, as France continues to undergo similarly strict lockdown measures to the UK, and the pair will be reaching out to UK families online to help solve their specific DIY dilemmas.

Dick and Angel will also be embarking on their own ‘dream’ projects and explore new hobbies in the series, as they aim to both inform and inspire.

Deputy Head of Features and Formats at Channel 4, Sean Doyle, added: “In these unprecedented times, they [Dick and Angel] will bring great joy, warmth and know how into the sitting rooms, sheds, attics and cupboards across the country.”
