A new business reality series led by seasoned entrepreneur Eric Collins is heading to Channel 4.
The Profit will follow Eric, the CEO of the venture capital firm Impact X Capital Partners, as he offers his expertise and capital investment to four British businesses that are desperately trying to stay afloat.
Named by the Powerlist as one the most influential black people in Britain, Collins has made a career supporting under-represented entrepreneurs across Europe. The Alabama born businessman has helped transform digital companies such as AOL and Micro SwiftKey, and his business acumen and unrivalled connections landed him a place among Barack Obama’s Small Business Administration’s Council in the White House.
In this new series, Eric will act as ‘The Profit’, immersing himself in every aspect of a struggling British company. By asking some tough questions and interrogating the companies’ plans for the future, he hopes to give them the tools they need to succeed in the toughest economic climate Britain has seen for generations.
Becky Cadman, Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment at Channel 4, commented: “This dramatic format reinvents the business make-over space in a compelling way, following one of the country’s most brilliant venture capitalists as they stake not just their reputations – but their own money – on helping struggling businesses. With British businesses facing unprecedented challenges, it could hardly be more timely.”
The Profit will air on Channel 4 later this year.
