A panel discuss how difficult it is to define diversity in the TV industry and debate how much progress has been made in terms of diversity in the UK TV industry.

The panel included Ally Castle, a Creative Strategy consultant working across the broadcast industry to support creative thinking and editorial decision-making, Cat Lewis, CEO of Nine Lives Media and Chair of The Indie Club, Dr Clive James Nwonka, Fellow at the LSE in Film studies and Marcus Ryder, TV Executive in News and Documentaries and visiting Professor at The Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity. The event was chaired by Aaqil Ahmed, TV Executive Producer and former Head of Religion & Ethics at BBC and Channel 4.

Defining Diversity? That’s Easy was at RTS event held on September 22. It was chaired by ex-BBC head of religion and ethics Aaqil Ahmed, now a media professor at Bolton University. The producer was Angela Ferreira, managing director of Douglas Road Productions.
