New boyband revealed for BBC's Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience

The series will follow ‘Dear Alice’, a band made up of five performers, all aged 19 to 23 and from diverse backgrounds, while BBC Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope will narrate their path to the global stage.

“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the show,” says Hope, “it’s a fresh way to bring along a brand-new boyband, and I’m excited to see their journey.”

Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience will put the boys through their paces as they take a demanding K-pop training course for 100 days.

Over six episodes, the quintet will be moulded into a boy band, learning from the very best choreographers, songwriters and life coaches working in K-pop today.

The show will feature exclusive behind-closed-doors access to the legendary K-pop agency SM Entertainment, which is collaborating with Kakao Entertainment America on the series. Each week, K-pop expert Hee Jun Yoon will offer notes on the band’s progress.

The show follows 16-year-old Hannah Shin (Julia Kim Caldwell), a young Canadian-Korean woman looking to connect with her heritage. She travels to South Korea to tutor at the prestigious K-pop academy OME. After catching the eye of the CEO, Hannah’s life is turned upside down, when she becomes a trainee determined with living up to her potential.

Her older brother Leo is along for the ride, as he learns to take control of his life to stop being such a slacker. A devastating family secret is also uncovered.
