Tom Mockridge joined Virgin Media as Chief Executive Officer in June 2013 having spent the previous two decades working for News Corporation in a variety of senior roles across the world.
He started his career as a newspaper journalist in his native New Zealand, then in Australia, before becoming an adviser and spokesperson for the Federal Treasurer, the Honourable Paul Keating.
In 1991, he joined News Corporation’s newspaper business and went on to hold executive positions at Foxtel in Australia, Star Group in Asia, Independent Newspapers in New Zealand, Sky New Zealand, Sky Italia and News Corporation’s television operations across Europe.
In July 2011, he was appointed Chief Executive of what was then News International in the UK. Mockridge has served as Deputy Chairman of both BSkyB and Sky Deutschland.
Tom Mockridge is Chair of the Royal Television Society.
