Lorraine Heggessey is the independent advisor to Channel 4’s Growth Fund and Chair of The Grierson Trust.
Through her creative consultancy work, she advises companies and individuals on their development and programming strategies. She has recently joined Angel Acadame, a group of investors that backs female-led tech companies and is a Director of Pivigo, a data science company. She has wide experience as a senior executive working across the broadcasting and production sector. Lorraine was the first woman to be appointed as Controller of BBC One, which she turned into the UK’s most popular network, commissioning hits including Strictly Come Dancing, Spooks and the remake of Dr Who. She then became CEO of talkbackThames, an indie that produced over 600 hours of programming a year, including X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and The Apprentice. After that she secured private equity backing from LDC to launch Boom Pictures, which she grew to become the 7th largest independent production company in the UK in under two years. The company was subsequently renamed Twofour Group and bought by ITV. Lorraine is a regular motivational speaker and industry commentator.
