Based in London, Kevin MacLellan is responsible for day-today operations and international expansion for NBCUniversal businesses outside of North America, including Theatrical, Home Entertainment and Television (distribution, networks and production) with a focus on increasing non-US revenues and driving business growth.
In September 2016, he added oversight of Domestic Television and New Media Sales (led by Frances Manfredi) to his remit. His expanded leadership role allows NBCUniversal to take a more globally strategic approach to an evolving media landscape around the world, with increased synergies across the broad NBCU portfolio.
In March 2016, Kevin oversaw the launch of hayu in UK, Ireland and Australia, an innovative new reality-focused next-generation SVOD service. Kevin also works collaboratively with respective international leaders to drive the growth agenda for CNBC International, Telemundo International, Parks & Resorts and NBC News. Additionally, Kevin supports Comcast’s overseas expansion strategy and serves on NBCUniversal’s Executive Committee.
In 2011, Kevin served as President, International Television overseeing all of NBCUniversal’s TV and New Media businesses outside the U.S. In this role, he led the re-organisation of NBCUniversal’s international television operations into a single integrated television division comprised of an industry-leading distribution operation, a strong portfolio of channel brands, a growing stable of production labels and multiple new media platforms.
During Kevin’s leadership, the International Television Production division developed and produced Emmy and Golden Globe award- winning Downton Abbey, the BAFTA-award winning reality drama series Made in Chelsea, crime procedural Motive, Christopher Guest’s Family Tree for HBO & BBC and About a Boy for NBC.
Additionally, Kevin set the strategic vision for NBCUniversal’s International Television Distribution (TVD) and Universal Networks International (UNI) divisions. UNI’s portfolio of international channel brands include: Syfy, Universal Channel, E! Entertainment Television, 13th Street, The Style Network, Studio Universal, DIVA and Golf Channel. These channels deliver quality content to 176 territories across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia.
