Iain leads on policy responses to complex regulatory issues, as well as championing the company’s role in the European creative economy.
In his role, he supports industry efforts to improve online safety and sits on the Ofcom Making Sense of Media Advisory Panel.
Iain joined YouTube from the Ogilvy Corporate Practice, where he was Executive Consulting Partner, having spent eight years leading teams within the WPP group, including as UK Executive Director of the WPP Government & Public Sector Practice. Prior to working in consulting, Iain led the UK Government’s media and communications planning as Chief Political Spokesperson to Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street. He began his career as a researcher and Press Officer to the Labour Party in London and Edinburgh and has spent more than two decades working in the intersection between media and politics.
