Greg Dyke

Former CEO, LWT and Former Director-General, BBC

Greg Dyke was originally a current affairs programme maker who became Chief Executive of LWT, CEO of Pearson Television (now known as Fremantle) and Director-General of The BBC.

In later years he has also been Chair of the Football Association, Channel Five and the British Film Institute and is currently Chair of the London Film School. He has sat on the boards of a range of media organisations including ITN and Channel 4 and he once led a consortium which tried to buy ITV.

In his time in television he was particularly involved in trying to expand the number of people from ethnic minorities working in the industry and when he was Director-General of the BBC he described the organisation as "hideously white”. He left the BBC in controversial circumstances surrounding the BBC’s coverage of the Iraq War.
