Darren Throop, President & CEO of Entertainment One (eOne), has a 25-year track record in building and managing entertainment companies. His career in the industry began in 1991 when he founded an independent chain of retail music stores.

Darren took the company public in 2003 and has since grown eOne’s global footprint through a series of growth initiatives and corporate acquisitions across all areas of entertainment.

Today, eOne owns some of the most popular content brands in the world including preschool-phemon Peppa Pig, films such as Academy Award nominee Molly’s Game; and television series including HBO’s Sharp Objects and ABC’s upcoming series The Rookie. In 2017, eOne was recognized by Broadcast Magazine as the second largest television distributor in the UK.

The company’s network includes newly-launched MAKEREADY with Brad Weston; content creation venture Amblin Partners with Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Studios, Participant Media and Reliance Entertainment; leading film production and global sales company Sierra Pictures; unscripted television leaders Renegade 83 and Whizz Kid Entertainment; music labels Dualtone Music Group and Last Gang; and interactive studio Secret Location.
