Dame Carolyn McCall

Dame Carolyn is CEO of ITV plc, which has undergone a significant transformation over the last five years to ensure the company thrives and succeeds in a ferociously competitive digital media world.

Under Carolyn’s leadership, ITV has successfully transitioned from a linear organisation to a strong linear and digital media, entertainment and global production business. 

Between 2010-2018, as CEO of easyJet, Carolyn led a turnaround, resulting in a customer focused airline where the entire organisation aligned behind making it easy and making it affordable for passengers. The share price quadrupled during her tenure. Carolyn was CEO of the Guardian Media Group from 2006-2010. Carolyn became CEO of The Guardian and Observer in 2002 having worked in planning, marketing, and advertising. In 1993 Carolyn launched Wired UK and in 1996 she launched the Guardian digitally.

Carolyn currently serves as a Non-executive Director on the Board of Bridgepoint plc and is a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts.

In 2016, Carolyn was awarded a Damehood for services to the aviation industry and received an OBE in 2008 for services to women in business. She has received the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year; and awards for business leader from the Evening Standard, City AM and Management Today (three times). Carolyn is the only person to have won the award from Management Today for two separate companies.
