Carolyn became ITV's CEO in 2018, where she launched a new strategic vision - ‘More than TV’ - designed to transform the company in light of the rapid changes in the media landscape. 

This digitally led growth strategy builds on ITV’s unique and winning combination of creativity and commercial strength. It is designed to ensure ITV is a leader in UK streaming through ITVX and an expanding global force in content creation, powered by the sixty production companies within ITV Studios.

In 2019 announced ITV its Social Purpose strategy, which is an integral part of 'More than TV'. Using the power of ITV to shape culture for good , it focuses on four areas: better mental and physical health, diversity and inclusion, climate action and giving back. This strategy has gone from strength to strength and is on course to deliver ever more significant impacts in all four areas.

Carolyn joined from easyJet where she was CEO for over 7 years. Before that she was CEO of the Guardian and Observer and then the Guardian Media Group . She has been a non executive director of New Look, Tesco, Lloyds and Burberry where she was SID. She is currently a NED at Bridgepoint and a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts. In 2016 Carolyn was awarded a Damehood for services to the aviation industry, she also  received an OBE in 2008 for services to women in business.
